Trying Hypnosis For a Better Body

Hypnosis seems to be a crock a lot of the time, but I think that depends on a person’s mind set of what hypnosis can do for them. Over the past 3 months, I have been doing a “Metabolism Booster” 20 minute hypnosis. I think it helps, even if I haven’t shed pounds like crazy! If nothing else, having the session helps me zone out and de-stress (it’s also great for falling asleep before bed). It may seem silly, but maybe it’s easier to do in the comfort of one’s own home rather than in an office where you can spend hundreds of dollars.

I’ve used hypnosis for getting in better shape, even if I haven’t moved. The sessions that I began trying are done by Brenda Kaye. Her session for weight loss, or just getting motivated for exercise, is called “Expand your Mind, Shrink your Body.” Personally, I listen while I sleep and the experience still has an effect, but I think the effect is greater when I listen to it while I am awake and fall into the session.

Here are a few tips I learned in a public, non-recorded session with Brenda –

1) Avoid using the word “lose.”

Why? Because, from our social structure, we see losing as BAD. To remove this, using the words “shed” or “melt” helps. It keeps the mind from trying to hold on to that extra baby fat!

2) Don’t be afraid of relaxing and treating yourself to some “Me time.”

Why? Stress affects how you eat and how the body holds on to certain foods. Take a break, even if it seems like you’re swimming in work.

3) Put skeptical thoughts aside and just go with the flow.

Why? You don’t have to believe in it right away, but if you’re going to try just set any skeptical thoughts aside. They’ll make it very difficult to focus on the session and then the session is pretty useless. (I speak from experience, but once those thoughts are aside, you at least benefit from being less stressed out.) 😀

I haven’t tried other hypnotists yet, but Brenda Kaye’s works for me. She has many other types of session for just about anything that is bothering you. For more information, go to her the address below:

Believe And You’ll Find Magic

What kind of magic do you expect to find?

You Are Cordially Invited…

If you are a dreamer, come in, If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer…
If you are a pretender, come sit by my fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin.
Come in! Come in!

A Night of Fire

A Night of Fire

The Night rolls over the land, quiet and soothing;
Letting the Shadows move.

The Flames from lamps glow, gently;
Pulling the Shadows near to hold.

She pushes them away, with a loving glow;
But brings them close to her for shelter.

For the Night Shadows embrace,
The warm Glow of Flame, and she loves him;
Dearly and with her whole being.

For without him, she has no lover’s touch;
Until his death comes with the rising sun.

Sad little Flame, she will await him;
As she sleeps and dreams.

Writing or…?

Writing or...?

What is the first thing you think of when you read the saying? My first thought was: This describes authors, thinkers, and artists around the world.

Wishes

“Greetings Kira,

It’s crazy to make a wish all because you are bored or alone at an exact point in time, but we can’t help our inner selves. We wish for things that make us happy, but that wish may have the worst consequences. A few examples include wishing for love, and, the most popular one, wealth. They always seem to turn back on us, haha, we are foolish creatures some days; yet we are also the most unique and fascinating.

What would you wish for, if there were no repercussions?

I know what my wish would be… no it’s not world peace. My wish is selfish, ah… but aren’t all wishes?

Utopias are just failed wishes brought to life. My wish… are you ready to hear…? Is for my soul to become a star. Purely selfish.

Care to guess why?

Go on… don’t be shy… guess!
