Shakespeare’s Sonnet 62

Sin of self-love possesseth all mine eye
And all my soul and all my every part;
And for this sin there is no remedy,
It is so grounded inward in my heart.
Methinks no face so gracious is as mine,
No shape so true, no truth of such account;
And for myself mine own worth do define,
As I all other in all worths surmount.
But when my glass shows me myself indeed,
Beated and chopp’d with tann’d antiquity,
Mine own self-love quite contrary I read;
Self so self-loving were iniquity.
‘Tis thee, myself, that for myself I praise,
Painting my age with beauty of thy days.

Lyrics to a Song: Skeleton Key (In Progress)

These lyrics were written by a blossoming artist who is just getting started. She hasn’t written much but these are the lyrics to the first song that she is doing right now. What are your thoughts and what instrument would you have with them?

Skeleton Key
By: Rosalia

“Everywhere I go,

and everything I see,

you’re always there with me.

You’re my skeleton key,

so why can’t I be yours?”

Writing or…?

Writing or...?

What is the first thing you think of when you read the saying? My first thought was: This describes authors, thinkers, and artists around the world.

Thoughts On Brave New World

I’m reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley for my AP Literature and Composition class, and at this point in time, it’s very upsetting. Training children to hate books?! The horror! I also find myself comparing it to the caste system, since they have Alphas and such, of the Dwarves in Dragon Age, and I know that’s silly but that’s how I see it. Especially when there was a mention of dwarves. I am finding it interesting but I’m not sure if I’m going to like the book if this continues the way it is.

Now I must know, does it get better or worse? That’s all I need to know, because I need a little push to continue the book and actually know what I’m reading with some hope that it won’t end too horribly.

Kim Harrison Video Chat!

I don’t know if any one else here, other than myself, are readers of Kim Harrison’s Hallows Series or any of her other series, but there will be a video chat in about 2 weeks. I thought I’d post this to spread the word, even though I usually only post once a day in order to avoid annoying all of you.

I hope that some of you go watch and ask questions. She’s a great author and I highly recommend her books.

For a sample of her writing, visit her site! The link below is leads to an excerpt of the first book in the Hallows Series, Dead Witch Walking.
